A stunning 60-foot mural was unveiled yesterday at the Downtown Arts Center, the culmination of six months of work by local artist Maria Santos. The mural, titled "Roots and Wings," depicts the diverse communities that have shaped Greenville's identity over the past 200 years.

The Greenville City Council voted 5-2 on Tuesday to approve the construction of protected bike lanes along Main Street, connecting downtown to the Swamp Rabbit Trail. The $2.3 million project will add 1.8 miles of protected lanes with physical barriers separating cyclists from vehicle traffic.

The Greenville High School robotics team have qualified for the FIRST Robotics National Championship after winning the Southeast Regional Competition. The team of 18 students designed and built a robot that dominated the competition.
